Todd Reifers
Todd’s
art career began at age seven during visits to his Grandmother Ann
Reifer’s studio. During these visits, he was graciously bestowed
with the honor of cleaning her brushes. Todd credits his interest in
painting to Ann, who learned to paint in oils during her husband’s
World War I military service.
An accomplished artist, Sister
Ruffinia, guided Todd’s first step
into formal training with Saturday morning art classes. Sister Ruffinia
was recognized in Who’s Who in American Art for her landscapes
in oil. In 1957, Todd’s family moved to Indianapolis where he won
three consecutive scholarships to Herron Art School while attending North
Central High School. Todd continued his training at the Cincinnati Art
Academy and the Kansas City Art Institute.
Todd, a fine artist for more than 27 years, continues to receive awards.
