Sara Boyce, President

Sara Boyce is known for her passion for art, people, and making connections. With her infectious smile and unbounded energy, Boyce quickly earns the respect and trust of artists, clients, and fellow dealers. Adept at making connections between collectors and artists, she is continually combining her love of art, education and business at The Brigham Galleries.

Through her life, Boyce applied her savvy marketing skills to clients that include a sports arena, political candidate and various artists. After obtaining an MBA and MPH, she incorporated her ability to build relationships and network with a deep interest in art and opened The Brigham Galleries in 2001. Based on Nantucket Island, the gallery has gained international recognition, particularly in the world of Realism.

Understanding that taste is intuitive but knowledge is learned, Boyce is rare in her commitment to helping collectors learn about quality and value in art. Hungry for knowledge herself, Boyce has pursued international classes at Sotheby’s School of Business and traveled to many of the world’s top art fairs to source art and bring her collectors the latest knowledge. She has hosted presentations and demonstrations by academics, art historians and master teachers. If you have a tie to Nantucket Island, chances are you have attended an event at The Brigham Galleries. Some of the highlights include “The Art of Investing in Art” by a Sotheby’s presenter; “Collecting Beauty Now” by leading pre-Raphaelite authority, former Dahesh Museum Director and current Fine Art Connoisseur editor, Peter Trippi; a portrait demonstration Ted Seth Jacobs, Living Master from France; an Aboriginal Art exhibit Boyce curated and conceived with the Australian government; or any one of her cause-related exhibitions. Boyce is tireless in her commitment to expanding understanding and comfort around art.

Acknowledging that discretionary spending has changed but the love for quality remains, Boyce analyzed the art market and expanded The Brigham Galleries to an online art auction house. Representing original fine art, The Brigham Galleries fills the gaping hole between eBay and leading auction houses Christie’s and Sotheby’s.

Eden Maheras, Vice President

Eden Maheras spent the first decade of her career dividing time between her love of art and financial recruiting.  Always enthusiastic, Maheras’ commitment to perfection is second to none.  Both industries demand tenacity and the ability to create the perfect fit.  Whether working with CEO’s to place important pieces of art or to create a seamless transition with the right upper level manager, her exceptional talent in building relationships has served her well.

Working with The Brigham Galleries since 2005, Maheras has moved from Assistant Manager to Vice President.  While working in the gallery on Nantucket, Maheras learned all aspects of managing a gallery.  After relocating to Chicago, she remained responsible for Sales & Marketing of the Portraiture Division.  Now Vice President, Maheras has been involved with every step of the transition to an auction house devoted solely to fine art.

Maheras received her Bachelor’s Degree from Amherst College, where she majored in Psychology while studying Art and Art History. In her spare time, she follows the art market, peruses the exhibits at The Art Institute, and volunteers at a local animal shelter.
